TORRANCE TEACHERS ARE UNITED

Who We Are

The Torrance Teachers Association (TTA) has proudly served educators since 1947, advocating for the rights and interests of teachers throughout the Torrance Unified School District. With over 1,250 members, TTA is one of California’s oldest and most active local chapters.

As the exclusive bargaining representative for TUSD educators, TTA works to improve working conditions, protect professional rights, and strengthen public education. We are unified with the California Teachers Association (CTA) and the National Education Association (NEA), ensuring that our collective voice is strong—locally and nationally.

TTA is committed to advancing educational equity, supporting students’ success, and empowering teachers through collective action and community engagement.

WHAT WE DO

The Torrance Teachers Association (TTA) is dedicated to supporting and representing educators across the Torrance Unified School District. We work to protect the rights of our members, negotiate fair and competitive contracts, and advocate for safe, respectful, and supportive working conditions.
Beyond representation, TTA is committed to professional development—offering guidance, mentorship, and resources to help educators grow in their careers. We believe that when teachers are supported, students thrive.
TTA is also deeply connected to the Torrance community. Through outreach programs, scholarships, and school partnerships, we help strengthen the bond between schools and families. We proudly champion equity, student mental health, and inclusive, high-quality education for every child.
